Call For Speakers

The National Tourism and Events Excellence Conference is currently accepting proposals for breakout session presentations (20 minute oral presentations) on Monday 22 July and Tuesday 23 July 2013.

Please review the following instructions on how to apply, and fill out the proposal submission form by Friday 12th April 2013.

All selected presenters will receive a reduced conference registration rate (25% off regular registration fee), and have the opportunity to showcase their initiatives in front of industry stakeholders and business leaders.


STEP 1: Review Proposed Topics

Please review the proposed session theme topics for the National TEE Conference breakout sessions and select one session that best fits your presentation or case study.

 

STEP 2: Review Speaker Guidelines

Please download and review the breakout session speaker guidelines as you will be required to indicate you have accepted these terms and conditions on the application form.

Please note that all breakout session speakers are required to cover their own registration, travel and accommodation costs for the conference. All selected presenters will receive a reduced conference registration rate (25% off regular registration fee).

 

STEP 3: Complete Application Form

Complete the application form below by Friday 12 April 2013. On the application form you will be required to provide contact details, a presentation title, a 150 word presentation outline, a 150 word biography and a JPG headshot image.

NB: Speakers may submit more than one presentation proposal, however only one presentation per speaker will be selected for the program.

 

STEP 4: Presentation Selection Process

Presentation submissions will be reviewed by the National TEE Conference Steering Committee and speakers will be notified of the outcome within 4 weeks of the submission closing date.

Submissions will be evaluated according to the following criteria:

  1. Relevence: Is the proposed topic relevant and new to the conference?
  2. Presenter: Is the proposed presenter knowledgeable and experienced on this topic?
  3. Originality: Is the proposed topic unique and interesting?
  4. New Lessons: Does the proposed presentation include practical ideas, useful examples and new lessons?
  5. Interest Value to Audience: Will this presentation promote discussion amongst the audience?

Speakers are encouraged to note the following important dates their diary:

Friday 12 April: Presentation proposal deadline
Friday 26 April: Speaker selection results announced
Monday 26 June: Speaker registration deadline
Monday 15 July: Speakers to submit PowerPoint presentations
