It is a pleasure to welcome you to the third annual National Tourism and Events Excellence (TEE) Conference, a key event on the calendar of the Australian tourism and events industry, and a collaborative effort between the Victoria Tourism Industry Council and Brisbane-based tourism consultancy, Tony Charters & Associates.
The National TEE Conference brings together the direct and indirect stakeholders of both the tourism and event industries in a new platform for the discussion of current issues, the exchange of knowledge and the development of forward industry agendas. With operators, marketers, policy makers, research, transport, infrastructure providers, and investors in one place at one time there are real opportunities to build partnerships and alliances – and to achieve an excellent business and industry result.
This year, we are taking an innovative approach to the presentation of our headline speakers. Leaders in excellence from other sectors will feature and each speaker will be closely engaged with the delegation. Breakout sessions will explore the themes developed by our keynote speakers and delegates will propose key action agendas.
We believe this Conference is essential to all organisations who operate actively in the tourism and event space. The National TEE Conference was inspired by the need for a platform to address key industry issues through the filter of 'excellence' and in 2013 we will focus on delivering excellence.
Finally, we are honoured to have the major partnership support of Tourism Victoria for the 2013 event. Victoria has led the way in recognising the value of consistent and well orchestrated destination planning, development and marketing and the important role that events take in tourism and economic development. Melbourne is a fitting location for the National TEE Conference and its agenda of excellence.
We encourage you to make this significant event part of your professional development for 2013 and look forward to welcoming you to the National Tourism & Events Excellence Conference in Melbourne in July.
